Calling all cryptographers

Who says judges can't have some fun? British judges, no less. But the judge who presided over the unsuccessful copyright infringement suit brought against the author of the "Da Vinci Code'' has created his own code in the first 13 1/2 pages of his 71-page ruling. Deciphering the italic letters mixed in with the regular roman typeface reveals that it's the "Smithy Code,'' a takeoff on the judge's name, Peter Smith.

What it all means has been left to code-breakers. Smith has revealed very few clues, other than to send inquiring minds to study the code breaking in the books he was asked to consider: HBHG ("Holy Blood, Holy Grail'') and DVC ("Da Vinci Code"). How clever!

Cynics will say it all feeds into the publicity machine for the movie version of "Da Vinci Code,'' which opens in May. Maybe so. In the entertainment business these days, any mention of a movie title is good publicity.

The immigrants think they are being smart but they are showing the American citizens just how pushy and ignorant they are, which we already know. I have nothing against immigrants, that is what America is made up of, but when a person comes into this country, learn our language, work legally for what you want no matter what the pay is, we have all been there, and come into this country legally, don't sneak in and think you are going to get away with it. This is showing arrogance and stupidity. All employers who hire illegals for cheaper pay and do not have to pay taxes for the employee, should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and then some. They are the real problem and another problem is the mental midget in Washington that keeps lying and flip-flopping all the time. Whose mouth voiced the thought, "open all the borders and let more people in to work because we can't supply the people that will do jobs for less pay." What a crock that was and then when people are up in arms over it, what happens? Flips the other way to keep the borders closed. In the meantime, opening the borders would have let anything including terrorists in and caused this problem with the illegals. That should have been squashed a long time ago.
